The California Coast is our favorite vacation spot. There are so many beautiful places - ranging from gentle beaches in the south to the rugged Big Sur Coast to the north, where steep cliffs plunge precipitously into the Pacific. The coast has many moods from a quiet fog shrouded day to a bright sunny, cloudless day. The pictures depicted here show these moods. Some were taken in Spring and some in Fall over a period of several years. If you are observant, you may spot whales migrating along the coast, see sea lions basking on a remote beach or sea otters playing in the kelp. Spring brings many varieties of wildflowers, carpeting the hills with yellows, blues and whites.
